Help with getting reimbursed

Want your employer to cover the cost of the d.MBA program? From a business perspective, this does make sense. The program will help you communicate with decision makers, impact strategic decisions and launch successful products – which will undoubtedly benefit your company.

We’ve prepared an example of a pitch email for your manager along with additional material to share that have helped previous candidates get buy-in from their employers.

Dear ______________,

I found a course I would like to take, called d.MBA (Design MBA). It is teaching business fundamentals and is crafted specifically for designers. I’m writing to request your approval to purchase it as part of my professional development.

I have realized how important it is to align design and business goals. I want to add business principles and tools to my skillset so I can improve my design outcomes, better communicate with [our clients / corporate decision makers] and ultimately impact strategic decisions.

Specifically, I think this would help me on the below projects

-  Add project

-  Add project

The d.MBA program is a great match for me. It is a 6-week part-time online course that I can do without taking a break from work. The next intake runs from October 7th to November 18th, 2024.

Have a look at the curriculum and course details over here. I would be studying in a cohort of 50 other hand-picked designers and will have lifetime access to d.MBA Alumni Collective, which means that I’d get support beyond the 6 week course. And the alumni network is of really high quality as the d.MBA has been taken by designers from IDEO, Fjord, Accenture, N26, Porsche, Amazon, Google. The tuition fee is 3,280€.

Let me know what you think. If there are more designers from the company who would benefit from joining, we could also make use of d.MBA’s Partner Program

Thank you for considering.

Best regards,

______________
